Temple Forest Monastery (also known as Jetavana Monastery) was established in 2014 in the small town of Temple, New Hampshire, about an hour-and-a-half from Boston. Situated on 250 acres of mainly forest and comprising a number of old farm buildings and newly built meditation cabins, the monastery provides a place where those interested can become monks and receive a traditional training, as well as a center for local and regional Buddhists and a resource for those of any faith or none interested in learning from traditional Buddhist monastic life, teachings, and practice, where one can receive guidance and find opportunities for meditation and quiet reflection. The monastery is open to the public for both day visits and for longer stays by advance reservation.
